Your Dry Practice Plan: Nov 1 - 30
After 11 more months of dry practice, I finally see the light at the end of the tunnel!.
This Month's Skills
This month was a refresher of a lot of skills. Weather forced me indoors this month, too, so I'm back into my dry practice dojo in the basement. Nothing much else to report...oh, except I am still having some trouble with my wrist. I have an upcoming doctor's appointment, but December will probably focus hard on SHO. Oh, and you might be wondering about the M&P Shield I mentioned in the article and used for the cover photo. Stay tuned...
Missed Days
There is no shame in my game this month. The days that I missed are completely earned. On the 6th and the 12th I finished up 36-hour shifts: 7 AM to 7 AM at my EMS job, then straight to the hospital for a 7 AM to 7 PM emergency room clinical. I dry practiced the mornings before I started those "36-hour days" and in theory I could have when I got home, but I don't hold that against myself.
On the 9th I was in the midst of a 48-hour day. After finishing another 24-hour ambulance shift I rushed into the woods to teach my survival class and participate in 24 hours of training and scenarios. There's no way I could have dry practiced that day if I wanted to.
My Results
I'm a little over 50 hours of dry practice this year (with my EDC gun - add ten hours with rifle and shotgun). I love watching minutes turn into hours turn into work-weeks. Minutes quickly turn into hours and it's not hard to find ten minutes a day. What have you done? Below are my day-by-day results of the past month.
